Stainless Steel Pearl Necklace

The necklace laid flat, several woven strands of pearls with small rectangular steel plates spaced along them.

The necklace worn, the steel tabs catching light between the white and gray pearls.

Made while I was working in a machine shop. The stainless steel components are parts fabricated for Intel that came out off-spec, and they went home with me instead of into the scrap bin. Woven together with freshwater pearls in white and dark gray, they make a contradiction I have never quite resolved and do not want to.

Drop is measured from the front of the neck to the vertex of the necklace; where the length is adjustable, measurements are taken at the shortest setting. Width is approximate and measured while the necklace is worn.
