Tenmoku Tea Bowl

Single faceted bowl, deep glossy brown below and mottled cream around the rim. Seven tenmoku bowls in two rows, each with a differently pooled cream rim. The bowl upside down, showing the faceted lower wall and an unglazed white foot ring.

Another set in the faceting series, thrown in high-fired porcelain with a textured facet that twists around the body. The outside is a deep, glossy tenmoku brown; the interior is a mottled cream that spills over the rim in an uneven band. The seven bowls share a shape and a palette, and the firing sorts out the rest.
