Faceting Series

Every piece in this series starts as a narrow cylinder on the wheel. I cut flat planes down its length, then open the form out from the inside; as the wall stretches, the facets lean and travel, so what began as a set of straight cuts ends up spiralling around the pot. I have applied the technique to a variety of forms: tea bowls, tumblers and a pitcher.
